Who Killed Jimmy Hoffa, and Who Forged the Memos?

My political obsessions introduced me to the world of blogging. I love elections and am never so happy as when people are fighting over some office or other. The campign for the Office of the President of the United States is the biggest fight of all, and the most fun.

Last September, the CBS News program, 60 Minutes Wednesday, ran a now infamous segment on President Bush's sojourn in the Texas Air National Guard.

I followed the furious debate that broke out in the Blogosphere, and after looking at all of the evidence, was convinced that CBS had used obviously forged documents. Anyone who objectively looks at the evidence would come to the same conclusion. CBS has now released the report of the "Independent Investigative Panel" and, although four fewer people now work at CBS news, there was very little of substance in the report. Here is an nice article from John Podhoretz about the scandal and the report: Political Bias? What Political Bias?. The two big questions left unanswered for me are 1) Who created the memos (i.e. who is the forger),and 2) how is it that the DNC ran an ad campaign entitled "Favorite Son" the day after the CBS ANC story?

The cover-up is continuing. I suppose the answers to these questions fall in the category of something we will never know, like who bankrolled James Earl Ray's escape to Europe, who killed Jimmy Hoffa, and, of course, what was in the manuscripts that Isabel Arundel Gordon, widow of Sir Richard Francis Burton, burned after his death?

(Burton, by the way, would be an extremely valuable fellow to have around now that the Muslim world has become so topical).
